Mr. Tyler Johnson ~ Teacher
January 9, 1967 – April 24, 2016

Tyler graduated with honors from Ohio University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and was a state-licensed elementary teacher.  He taught for four years before joining the PCA family in 1995.  Tyler was a trained mentor teacher and was twice been listed in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.”  He was also nominated for the “Presidential Award for excellence in science teaching.”  Many of Mr. Johnson’s students have won awards in mathematics and science competitions.  He actively participated in the school PTF, fundraising efforts, and served on various committees throughout the school including the Marketing Committee and the newly-formed PCA Alumni Association.  Tyler was the founder and director of the Pike Christian Academy Drum Line.
Tyler was married to fellow PCA teacher, Teresa Johnson, and together they attended the Antonis Church and Wilson Run Church in Waverly.  Tyler accepted Jesus at the age of 13 and believed, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God” (Psalm 53:1, KJV).  Mr. J, as he was affectionately known, is greatly missed by his PCA Family.
